How to take partition backup in Linux

This is a question which one of my members had asked on our face book page “.How can i take a partition backup on Linux distros?”. Now this is a question which can be solved very easy , just need some web surf and be familiar to Linux.Unfortunately I haven’t tested the following procedure yet.But as soon i test it out  , Ill add some more content here :) . So if you cannot successfully do this , or if this article is completely wrong or have any mistakes that I should re- edit please comment.
